Last week, I bought 3 pounds of Wild Maine Blueberries. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them, but I bought them anyways. After careful thought and consideration ANNND a little bit of searching around, I came across this recipe:
If you read through the recipe, you come to a point where it says 1 lb of blueberries. At first, I was sure I read that wrong. 1 POUND? I thought that I better go with that or my buckle wouldn’t be buckle but coffee cake. In went the blueberries and the concoction went into the oven. Surprisingly, with that much fruit, the thing didn’t fall apart and according to hubby it was really good (I didn’t have any, I just sent it on its way). All I could think about was that the guys were going to blow up like blueberries in their NWUs and roll away. Apparently that didn’t happen, though it would have been a real sight to see.
After using this gas oven for 2 weeks…I think I like it. It bakes unbelievably even. I’ll keep it, for now.
A couple words about something completely unrelated. My house.is.a.disaster. It is making me a little nuts. Everything is unpacked it just that some things have not found a new home. Therefore, they are sitting on the stairs. The Master bedroom is unpacked, but some of it has been unpacked on to the floor. I don’t like clutter. I’m not sure when that happened because growing up my room was always a certified disaster area, but now…I neeeeed my house to be clean. It normally is. My hubby says ‘give it some time, we just got here.’ I say, ‘this mess is inexcusable.’ We voluntarily downgraded to a smaller house than we had in Hawaii (we could have had a house with almost the same sq ft, but I felt like that was too big for us and hubby agreed). The house size is perfect (other than the fire alarms going off constantly, but that’s for another post, another day) – I’m not sure some of our ‘stuff’ agrees because it can’t seem to find a home.
Since my kids are still sleeping…I’m going to attempt to tackle the clutter beast.
